The Underground Academy of Cinematic Arts is proud to announce the 10th annual Golden Lion Awards High School Film Festival on April 27-28, 2019. The festival is currently seeking submissions and is open to high school/middle school students through March 15, 2019.

The Elgin & Winter Garden theatres, a classic movie house along Yonge Street, was the site of several TIFF screenings, including Cincinnati’s “the public” and “The Old Man and The Gun.”
Fresh off its gala presentation at the Toronto International Film Festival this week, “the public,” the Cincinnati-filmed drama written, directed and starring Emilio Estevez, was screened Tuesday night for supporters and staff of the Toronto Public Library Foundation at the downtown library branch.

Film Cincinnati Backlot is Saturday, Sept 8 along West Mehring Way. With production crews regularly using Cincinnati as their backdrops for movies, it’s not unusual to see a film crew set up somewhere around town. But seeing what goes on in the middle of the movie set? That’s reserved for the professionals—unless you come to Film Cincinnati’s annual “Backlot” party and experience movie magic firsthand.
Johanna Byer, is the 2018 recipient of the annual Film Cincinnati Lori Holladay Founder’s Award.
He had hinted at retirement from acting a couple of years ago, but on Monday Robert Redford made it official: “The Old Man and The Gun,” shot last year in Cincinnati, will be his final one as an actor.
“Backlot 30,” Film Cincinnati’s celebration of its first three decades, was such a hit last year that we decided to bring it back this year! Hundreds joined us for the street party featuring Emilio Estevez, Rhymefest and a host of Film Cincinnati supporters in a street setting made to look like the back lot of an on-location film shoot.
UFO, written and directed by Ryan Eslinger, stars Golden Globe Winner Gillian Anderson and Tony Award Winner Alex Sharp.
The upcoming action thriller REPRISAL, directed by Brian A. Miller, stars Bruce Willis and Frank Grillo. The film shot on location here in Cincinnati, will be released in theaters and on demand by Lionsgate Premiere on August 31st.
