METH To Premiere In Cincinnati
Award-winning short film to screen at Cincinnati State
Cincinnati, OH — May 10, 2010 — On the heels of a sold out screening at Los Angeles’ Newport Beach Film Festival, Michael Maney’s short film Meth will have its Cincinnati premiere at Cincinnati State’s ATLC Auditorium on Friday, May 28th at 8:00pm. Cincinnati State can be found at 3520 Central Parkway, Cincinnati, Ohio 45223, and the ATLC building is adjacent to the campus’ Central Parkway garage. Doors open at 7:15 and admission is free.
The film world premiered on April 10th as part of the Florida Film Festival and FirstGlance Film Festival Hollywood. Meth was the recipient of FirstGlance’s Best Editing award and also screened in Newport Beach on April 26th.
About the Film
Nikki is a crystal meth addict living a life bent on self-destruction. After a failed attempt to pawn an old discarded mannequin to support her drug habit, Nikki finds herself host to an unwanted guest with a most unusual request. As the line between hallucination and reality blur, Nikki finds herself trapped in a nightmare in which her own sanity is at stake.
Starring veteran Cincinnati actors Stephanie Brait, Robert Pavlovich and Dan Davidson, the film was written and directed by Michael Maney. RYAN LEWIS (Producer/Director of Photography) has more than thirteen years of experience working in commercial, film and television production. As the founder of Cider Mill Productions, Lewis has firmly established his reputation for creating clever and engaging films. To date, Lewis' work has received more than 30 awards from film festivals nationwide and has been mentioned in Time, The Onion, The Guardian, Entertainment Weekly's "Must List" and featured on the Independent Film Channel.
