05/12/2010Cinema Lexzikon is proud to bring the feature film “Dark Target” to the Mariemont Theatre located at 6906 Wooster Pike on Saturday June 5th at 10 am. A tense action thriller set in post-Katrina America; “Dark Target” explores urban myths that have come out of the destruction of New Orleans by the hurricane.
When the inner cities begin to experience a rash of mass murders and increased violence, rumors about a government experiment gone wrong begin to surface. Daniel Kane (Brian Spangler), a former CIA operative leaves the company after he mistakenly shoots a terrorist who turns out to be his best friend. He moves back to his hometown, seeking peace, quiet and an end to the intrigue of the spy business. Before Kane has a chance to settle in he is drawn into a web of cross and double cross, horrific human experiments, urban gang conflicts, rogue government agents and friends who become enemies in the wink of an eye. Chased by a team of sadistic mercenaries lead by a mysterious Commander Baker (Kim Carrey), Kane soon finds his only hope is a government scientist named Mia Camara (Jennifer Stepp). She holds the key to the mysterious deaths, but can she be trusted? Can anyone be trusted? Can the good, the bad and the ugly all be the same people? DARK TARGET is a look at the hideous underbelly of a shadow government out to change the face of the world.
“Dark Target” features up and coming local Cincinnati talents Gwendolyn Thompson and Kevin Smith as part of the ruthless Baker’s Team. Several local actors and models make appearances through out the movie who were cast thru classes given from The National Attain Acting Workshop (Karl Rose), and casting thru Tommy McClure of Hayman Talent Agency. “Dark Target” was shot thru out southwest Ohio.
