Casting call

The short film “Spring Grove” will hold Cincinnati
casting sessions on Thursday, May 1 from 4 to 6 PM and
Saturday, May 3 from 3 to 6 PM at the Cincinnati
Public Library at 800 Vine Street. The film details
the shifting dynamics in the relationship of two
brothers – the older an Alzheimer’s sufferer and the
younger his caretaker.

Spring Grove’s one-week shoot in tentatively scheduled
for the first week of June. This is a non-union film
being made in conjunction with the film program at
Wright State University.

All roles are paid.

The roles being cast are:
Robert,  African-American, 40-65 yrs.
A cab driver who grew up idolizing his older, more
successful brother, Robert is now in the position of
caring for his widowed sibling. They’ve settled into a
comfortable routine, but that routine is about to
change.

James, African-American, 45-70 yrs.  
A retired schoolteacher who overcame oppression to
become a positive influence in the lives of young
people, he is now losing his most valuable gift: his
mind.  Dependent on his younger brother, James has
regressed to a degree neither is willing to face.

Dr. Stevenson, 35-55 yrs.  
A gerontologist who performs her duties with a
clinical detachment, she serves as the mouthpiece of
fate for her elderly patients.

Peter Barrow, 20-40 yrs.  
En route to a business flight in Robert’s cab, he
witnesses a relationship-altering moment for Robert
and James.
